- Chat History and Humanization History: If you choose to save conversations, your chat history is stored in your browser's localStorage on your device as your primary record. Signed-in accounts also keep a humanization history on our servers, hosted on Cloudflare infrastructure, so past results can be re-opened across devices. How long server-side history is retained depends on your plan tier, and you can delete entries from your account at any time.
- Billing Information: When you subscribe to a paid plan, we collect your billing email and plan details. Stripe handles payment processing; we never store your credit card numbers.
- Usage Metrics: We log non-content usage data such as which features you access, timestamps, and error logs to improve our service and diagnose problems.
- Cookies: We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

- Resend: Transactional emails are sent via Resend, which receives your email address and message content.
- OpenAlex API: When you use our citation feature, we send search queries to OpenAlex to retrieve citation data. Your user identity is not transmitted.
- Legal Requests: If required by law or valid legal process, we may share information with courts, law enforcement, or government agencies.
We do not allow third parties to use your data for marketing or profiling.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for different periods based on the data type:
- Account Data: Your email address, plan information, and Stripe customer ID are retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we retain this information for 90 days in case you wish to restore it, then permanently delete it.
- Chat History: Conversations saved in your browser's localStorage remain on your device until you clear your browser data or manually delete them. You control this data.
- Tool Input Text: Text you submit for processing is not stored on our servers after the request completes. It is processed in real-time and immediately discarded unless you save the conversation.
- Billing Records: We retain billing and transaction data as required by law (typically 7 years in the US for tax purposes).
- Usage Logs: Non-content usage metrics are retained for up to 90 days for troubleshooting and performance analysis, then deleted.
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you have specific rights over your personal data:
